The GREAT Hike on the Painter's Path

Experience the entire hiking trail of the Malerweg in the Saxon Switzerland region across eight diverse stages. You will hike from one accommodation to the next, located in close proximity to or directly on the Malerweg.
Travelers, painters, and poets have been raving about the natural beauty of Saxon Switzerland for more than 200 years. On their way to Saxon Switzerland, the artists usually followed the same route. This historical route through the Elbe Sandstone Mountains is now the path of the Malerweg. To this day, this extraordinary landscape, unique in Europe, has lost none of its allure.
Starting from Pirna, you will hike on the right side of the Elbe through the Vorder Saxon Switzerland National Park to the most spectacular part of the park, the Hinter Saxon Switzerland. The return journey takes you through the "Realm of Stones" past the imposing fortress on the Königstein back to your starting point in Pirna.
