Cycling tour on the Elbe Cycle Route

• For organizational reasons, this bike tour can only be booked up to 7 days before the arrival date.
• The complete overview of the booked accommodations is noted on the travel confirmation/invoice and will only be sent to the guest by the tour operator by post with the documents after the travel booking.
• Communication during the trip is possible in the following languages: German and English.
• The trip is not suitable for guests with reduced mobility.

• The Saxon Switzerland Tourist Board is only an intermediary for this trip.

• Day 1: Individual arrival in Prague
  If you are traveling to your cycling trip by car, we recommend arriving in Dresden instead of driving directly to Prague and parking your car at our partner hotel. From Dresden, we offer a paid transfer service that takes you directly to Prague (Holesovice district, close to the cycle path). This way, you can start your cycling trip from Prague to Dresden peacefully and carefree.

• Day 2: Stay in Prague
  The "Golden City" offers numerous opportunities for sightseeing and other activities. Visit the Hradčany with the Royal Palace, stroll across the Charles Bridge, or immerse yourself in Prague's city life with its diverse cultural offerings.

• Day 3: Prague – Melnik (approx. 58 km)
  After breakfast, hop on your bike and leave the Czech capital. Cycle along the Vltava River to the center of the Bohemian wine-growing region of Melnik. From the Castle Hill in Melnik, you can enjoy the magnificent view of the confluence of the Vltava and Elbe rivers, as well as observe the further course of the Elbe Cycle Path, on which you will be traveling for another four days.

• Day 4: Melnik – Leitmeritz area (approx. 48 km)
  From now on, your cycling route always follows the Elbe. Today's bicycle tour takes you via Roudnice to the former fortress town of Terezín (Theresienstadt). From here it is only a few kilometers to Litoměřice (Leitmeritz) with the famous Chalice House. End your cycling tour with a stroll through the beautiful old town.

• Day 5: Leitmeritz area – Decin (approx. 50 km)
  On today's stage of your cycling trip, you cycle through Ústí nad Labem (Aussig), past the ruins of Střekov Castle, and follow the Elbe to Děčín (Tetschen). Frédéric Chopin was once inspired in the remarkable baroque castle there.

• Day 6: Decin – Bad Schandau/Pirna (approx. 21/45 km)
  From Decín, you ride on the Elbe Cycle Path on the left bank of the Elbe and soon reach Germany. Now the bizarre rock formations of Saxon Switzerland rise to the left and right of the Elbe. Take your time to absorb the impressions of the picturesque Elbe valley and cycle comfortably to the picturesque spa town of Bad Schandau (Krippen district). From Bad Schandau, the Elbe Cycle Path leads you past the Königstein Fortress and the Bastei observation rock to medieval Pirna, the gateway to Saxon Switzerland, where today's stage ends.

• Day 7: Bad Schandau/Pirna – Dresden (approx. 47/22 km)
  The final cycling stage first takes you to Pillnitz Palace. A rest and a walk through the famous palace park are worthwhile here. Now it is only a short distance along the Elbe Cycle Path until you finally reach Dresden. Here, the historic old town invites you to stroll.

  After your eventful and unforgettable cycling trip from Prague to Dresden, you begin your journey home today.
