Directions

The route starts at the Liebethaler Grund bus stop in Pirna and leads you over the bus turning area up to the Wesenitz. This path (marked with a blue dot) is also part of the Malerweg. You pass the Richard Wagner monument and the former Lochmühle. Upon reaching the Lochmühle, you cross the Wesenitz and then keep left towards the Daubemühle. At the mill, follow the path marked "blue line" towards Lohmen. At the intersection, descend to Mühlsdorf and come via the Mühlleithe to the left to a quarry. After passing the quarry, a wide path leads uphill. Halfway up, turn left and hike down to the historic waterworks. After the following steps, go left down again and at the next intersection turn right uphill. You come out of the valley and reach the road by following the "yellow line" mark. At the next intersection, continue straight and then turn right onto the path marked "green line." The path immediately branches left, giving you a first view of the landscape. You pass the field and follow the path marked "yellow dot" / "green line" to the Breiter Stein. Here it is worth climbing to the summit. At the intersection, follow the path to the left and cross the railway tracks. Now follow the path towards Dürrröhrsdorf-Dittersbach. There keep right and walk to the railway bridge, then turn left behind it to the station.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author

Those who have never heard of bouldering will spot some climbers near Breiter Stein on small rounded sandstone rocks practicing this sport. Equipped with large mats, they try to climb the rocks without harnesses or similar aids.
