This gravel route follows large parts of the RockHead gravel bike route. It is perfect for a warm-up on arrival afternoons, to get to know the RockHead, or a quick route to blow off steam. A good mix of beautiful gravel paths, quiet asphalt, and roads ensures everyone gets their money's worth. The Schönbacher Berg and Ungerberg are to be climbed, with the reward following a fast descent back to Sebnitz.

Directions

The start and end point is the station in Sebnitz. The route first leads on the RockHead through the Silk Flower City. In Amtshainersdorf, we turn right at the riding stable. Please be careful here – especially in the afternoons, there are also riders on the way. The path goes through Goldgruben to Schönbach, a pretty village with half-timbered houses. After the Endler campsite, take the left gravel path up to Schönbacher Berg. Once at the top, you can recharge your energy while enjoying the view at the small rest area.

Shortly afterwards, continue directly to the right along the edge of the clearing. A short downhill and uphill, past cow pastures, leads us to a beautiful route above Ulbersdorf with a panoramic view of Saxon Switzerland. Here we leave the RockHead, which leads on to Lohsdorf, and follow the bike path to Krumhermsdorf. We follow the green and white bike path signs through the village and arrive at the foot of Ungerberg, where we pedal further up on a beautiful forest path. At the top, the excursion restaurant awaits thirsty cyclists and the Unger Tower offers a 360-degree view over the Elbe Sandstone Mountains and Upper Lusatian Highlands.

Afterwards, there is a rapid descent. We cross the road and ride a little through Rugiswalde before taking the freshly asphalted bike path back to Sebnitz. Here, hardly any pedaling is necessary anymore.
