Conservatory Tour: "Resting on Roses"
How lovely... Who wouldn’t want to be on the sunny side of life? You are cordially invited to Weesenstein Castle Park to learn interesting facts about the rose—the flower of love and happiness—as well as the history of the garden. The rose was already considered a luxury item by the Greeks and Romans. The idiom “bedded on roses” likely stems from their custom of dining while reclining, literally while bedded on roses.
Flowers also play a role in the recently restored Winter Garden, the former bathhouse. The floral tour concludes with a glass of sparkling wine in the garden pavilion or in front of the Winter Garden.
Let’s head out into nature.
