The COMFORTABLE Hike on the Painter's Path

• For organizational reasons, this hike can only be booked up to 10 days before the arrival date.
• We recommend sturdy ankle-high hiking boots for the tours, as well as a small backpack for provisions and rain protection.
• A good basic level of fitness, sure-footedness, and a head for heights are required for this hiking trip.
• The complete overview of booked accommodations is noted on the travel confirmation/invoice and will be sent to the guest by the tour operator only after the trip is booked along with the documents.
• Communication during the trip is possible in the following languages: German

• Day 1: Individual arrival in Bad Schandau
  You travel individually to Bad Schandau. If you arrive early, you can already hike a circular tour from/to Bad Schandau on your arrival day.
• Day 2: Bad Schandau - Hohnstein  (approx. 17 km)
  From Bad Schandau, you hike along the panoramic trail to Altendorf and continue to the Goßdorfer Raubschloss. Through the picturesque village of Waitzdorf, the path leads further into the Tiefen Grund, where the Brandstufen lead to the "Balcony of Saxon Switzerland." On the Brandstraße, you reach the castle town of Hohnstein.

  Day 3: Hohnstein - Kurort Rathen  (approx. 9 km)

  The short stage leads down into the Polenz Valley and then back up through the Wolfsschlucht to the Hockstein viewpoint. The path continues leisurely with a beautiful distant view of the Lilienstein. Via Rathewalde, the tour leads through the Amselgrund valley and then through the rock gorge Schwedenlöcher to the Bastei. The Bastei viewpoint and the impressive Bastei bridge high above the Elbe Valley offer spectacular views. The descent leads across the Bastei bridge to Kurort Rathen.

• Day 4: Kurort Rathen - Kurort Gohrisch  (approx. 17 km)
  Transfer service to Kurort Rathen (In category B, you take the hiking bus, ticket included in guest card)The tour leads via Weißig and Thürmsdorf to Königstein. A magnificent view from the Pfaffenstein with the rock needle Barbarine rewards the steady ascent from Königstein. On the Königsweg, you now enter the "Realm of Stones."

• Day 5: Circular hike into the Hintere Sächsische Schweiz  (approx. 13 km)
  Bad Schandau is the ideal starting point for the hike into the Hintere Sächsische Schweiz. You hike through the wild and romantic Lattengrund and over steps and ladders along the ridge path to the impressive Schrammstein viewpoint and further into the Affensteine area. With a historic tram, the Kirnitzschtalbahn, you can comfortably return to Bad Schandau (included in guest card).
