• For organisational reasons, this walking holiday can only be booked up to 10 days before the arrival date.
• For the walks, we recommend sturdy, ankle-high hiking boots and a small rucksack for provisions and waterproof clothing.
• A good basic level of fitness, sure-footedness and a head for heights are required for this walking holiday.
• The complete list of booked accommodation is provided in the booking confirmation/invoice and will only be sent to the guest by the tour operator together with the travel documents after the trip has been booked.
• Communication during the trip is available in the following language: German
• This trip is unsuitable for guests with reduced mobility.
• German nationals must carry currently valid identity documents. All other travellers should observe the relevant passport and visa requirements and deadlines. Your embassy will be pleased to provide further information.

• Day 1: Independent arrival in Bad Schandau
  You make your own way to Bad Schandau. If you arrive early, you can complete a circular walk starting and finishing in Bad Schandau on the day of arrival
• Day 2: Bad Schandau - Hohnstein  (approx. 17 km)
  From Bad Schandau, you walk along the Panorama Trail to Altendorf and onwards to Goßdorf's Raubschloss. The route continues through the picturesque village of Waitzdorf into the Tiefengrund valley, where the Brand Steps lead to the "Balcony of Saxon Switzerland". Following Brandstraße, you reach the castle town of Hohnstein.

  Day 3: Hohnstein - Kurort Rathen  (approx. 9 km)

  This short stage descends into the Polenztal valley before immediately climbing again through the Wolfsschlucht ravine to the Hockstein viewpoint. The route then continues at a leisurely pace, offering a beautiful panoramic view of the Lilienstein. Via Rathewalde, the trail descends through the Amselgrund valley and then passes through the rocky Schwedenlöcher ravine to the Bastei. The Bastei viewpoint and the impressive Bastei Bridge high above the Elbe Valley offer magnificent views. The descent leads across the Bastei Bridge to Kurort Rathen.

• Day 4: Kurort Rathen - Kurort Gohrisch  (approx. 17 km)
  Transfer service to Kurort Rathen (In Category B, you take the hiking bus; the ticket is included in the mobile guest card)The route leads via Weißig and Thürmsdorf to Königstein. A magnificent view from the Pfaffenstein, with its distinctive Barbarine rock pinnacle, rewards the steady ascent from Königstein. You now enter the "Realm of Stones" along the Königsweg.

• Day 5: Circular walk in the Hintere Sächsische Schweiz  (approx. 13 km)
  Bad Schandau is the ideal starting point for the walk into the Hintere Sächsische Schweiz. You walk through the ruggedly romantic Lattengrund valley and ascend via steps and ladders along the ridge trail to the imposing Schrammstein viewpoint, before continuing into the Affensteine area. The historic Kirnitzschtal tramway provides a convenient return journey to Bad Schandau (included in the mobile guest card).
