Winter Hiking Tour Saxon Switzerland

• Depending on weather conditions, one should also be prepared for winter conditions in Saxon Switzerland
• The paths are usually not cleared of snow and ice.
• The hike is undertaken at one's own risk and responsibility.
• We recommend sturdy ankle-high hiking boots as well as a small backpack for provisions and rain protection for the tours.
• A good basic level of fitness, surefootedness, and absence of vertigo are required for this hiking trip.
• The complete list of booked accommodations is noted on the travel confirmation/invoice and will be sent to the guest by the tour operator with the documents via mail only after booking the trip.
• Communication during the trip is possible in the following languages: German and English.
• The trip is not suitable for guests with limited mobility.

• Day 1: Individual Arrival in Bad Schandau
  Use the afternoon for a small stroll through the quaint spa town.
• Day 2: Great Schrammstein Circuit: Bad Schandau - Schrammsteine - Schmilka  (approx. 11 km, approx. 3.5 hours)
  You take the historic passenger lift (extra costs) up to Ostrau and enjoy the splendid view of the Elbe Valley. Continue into the mystical forests of the Saxon Switzerland. You reach the winter village Schmilka and take the S-Bahn back to Bad Schandau.
• Day 3: There are two options to choose from:
  Option 1: Bad Schandau - Gohrisch - Königstein (approx. 11 km, approx. 3.5 hours)
  Through Krippen, you hike into the "Realm of Stones," as the region around Gohrisch is also called. Enjoy breathtaking views and finally continue to Königstein, where a visit to the "impregnable" Königstein Fortress is worthwhile. The S-Bahn takes you to the spa town of Rathen.
• Option 2: Königstein - Stadt Wehlen (approx. 8 km, approx. 3 hours)
  Take the S-Bahn to Königstein and start your winter hiking tour today. Pay a visit to the "impregnable" fortress here. Then, continue via Thürmsdorf and the Kleiner Bärenstein towards Wehlen. The S-Bahn takes you to the spa town of Rathen.
• Day 4: Bastei Circular Hike (approx. 9 km, approx. 3 hours)
  Today is all about the famous Bastei. The day begins with the ascent to the Bastei Rock. Via the Stone Table, you reach Rathewalde. The path leads back to the Bastei, and you descend to the spa town of Rathen.
