Hiking tour on the Painter's Path

• For organizational reasons, this hike can only be booked up to 7 days before the arrival date.
• We recommend sturdy ankle-high hiking boots and a small backpack for provisions and rain protection for the tours.
• A good basic fitness level as well as surefootedness and a head for heights are required for this hiking trip.
• The complete overview of booked accommodations is noted on the travel confirmation/invoice and will be sent to the guest by the tour operator through the mail after booking the trip.
• Communication during the trip is possible in the following languages: German and English.
• The trip is unsuitable for guests with reduced mobility.
• For German citizens, the current identification documents apply. All other persons please note the respective passport and visa deadlines. Your embassy will be happy to provide information on this.

• The Saxon Switzerland Tourism Association is only an intermediary for this trip.

• Day 1: Individual Arrival in Dresden
  We recommend a tour through Dresden to discover the beautiful Elbflorenz. Overnight stay in Dresden.
• Day 2: Dresden/ Pirna-Liebethal | Wehlen / Kurort Rathen  (approx. 12 / 16 km, approx. 4/ 5.5 h)
  In the morning, take the S-Bahn and bus to the starting point in Pirna-Liebethal. You will trek through three wildly romantic ravines. It's not far to the famous Bastei Bridge. Your destination is Wehlen or Kurort Rathen (depending on availability).
• Day 3: Wehlen/ Kurort Rathen | Hohnstein  (approx. 11/ 7 km, approx. 4/ 2.5 h)
  In the morning, reach the most famous viewpoint in the Saxon Switzerland - the Bastei Bridge. Then, descend into the Amselgrund and head towards the second highlight of the day – the Hockstein. Through the Wolfsschlucht, you will arrive in the Polenztal, below the town of Hohnstein with its castle.
• Day 4: Hohnstein | Altendorf/Kirnitzschtal/ Bad Schandau  (approx. 15 km, approx. 6 h)
  Through the Schindergraben, you pass the Gautschgrotto. The Brandaussicht is today's highlight. Continue down over 800 steps into the Tiefen Grund. Via Waitzdorf, reach Altendorf or the Kirnitzschtal. Depending on availability, overnight stay in Altendorf, the Kirnitzschtal or Bad Schandau.
• Day 5: Altendorf/Kirnitzschtal | Schrammsteine | Neumannmühle  (approx. 18.5 km, approx. 6.5 h)
  Head directly uphill to the Schrammstein viewpoint and on the ridge trail through the Schrammstein massif. Past the Großer and Kleiner Dom, reach the Affensteinweg. This leads to the Lichtenhain Waterfall. Via the Kuhstall, arrive at today's destination, the technical monument Neumannmühle. Take a public bus to Bad Schandau, where your hiking trip comes to a relaxing end.
• Day 6: Individual Return Journey
