Hiking trip on the Painter's Way

All applicable guest taxes are NOT included in the travel price and are to be paid locally.

• For organizational reasons, this hike can only be booked up until 7 days before the arrival date.
• We recommend sturdy ankle-high hiking boots and a small backpack for provisions and rain protection for the tours.
• A good basic fitness level, surefootedness, and a head for heights are required for this hiking trip.
• The complete overview of booked accommodations is noted on the travel confirmation/invoice and will be sent to the guest by the tour operator with the documents by post after the booking.
• Communication during the trip is possible in the following languages: German and English.
• The trip is unsuitable for guests with limited mobility.
• For German citizens, current identification documents apply. All other persons, please note the respective passport and visa deadlines. Your embassy will be pleased to provide you with information on this.

• The Saxon Switzerland Tourism Association is only the intermediary for this trip.

• Day 1: Individual Arrival at Bad Schandau District Krippen
  You arrive individually at Bad Schandau in the district of Krippen, and you are already directly in Saxon Switzerland. We recommend an evening stroll in the spa town of Bad Schandau.
• Day 2: Neumannmühle | Area Schmilka/Krippen   (approx. 13.5 km, approx. 5.5 h)
  In the morning, you take a bus to the starting point of today's stage. You hike through the Rear Saxon Switzerland to the Zeughaus. Shortly thereafter, the breathtaking Goldstein view awaits you. In Schmilka, you take the Elbe ferry and travel by suburban train to your accommodation in Krippen or continue hiking along the Painter's Path via Schöna and Reinhardtsdorf to Krippen.
• Day 3: Area Schmilka/Krippen | Spa Town Gohrisch  (approx. 17 km, approx. 6.5 h)
  Take the suburban train to the end of yesterday's hike in Schmilka or continue directly from Krippen on the Painter's Path. Climbing the table mountains Papststein and Gohrisch is on today's agenda.
• Day 4: Hike Spa Town Gohrisch | Königstein/ Weißig  (approx. 9/ 18 km, approx. 4/ 6 h)
  The short hiking tour on the Painter's Path leads you over the Pfaffenstein, past the Diebskeller cave to your hotel in Königstein. This leaves you with plenty of time for a visit to the fortress. Overnight stay in Königstein or Rathen.
• Day 5: Königstein/ Spa Town Rathen | Dresden (approx. 22.5/ 16 km, 7.5/ 5.5 h)
  Your last hiking stage takes you with breathtaking distant views across the field along the Upper Kirchleite. Over the ridge of the Rauenstein massif, you continue toward Pirna. You travel by suburban train to Dresden.
  Overnight stay in Dresden (tickets included).
  If the route is too long for you, take the suburban train from Stadt Wehlen.
• Day 6: Individual Return Journey
