• For organisational reasons, this walking holiday can only be booked up to 7 days before the arrival date.
• For the walks, we recommend sturdy, ankle-high walking boots and a small rucksack for provisions and rainwear.
• A good basic level of fitness, sure-footedness and a head for heights are required for this walking holiday.
• A complete list of the accommodation booked is included in the booking confirmation/invoice and will only be sent to the guest by post with the relevant documents by the tour operator after the trip has been booked.
• Communication during the trip is available in the following languages: German and English.
• This holiday is not suitable for guests with reduced mobility.
• German nationals must carry currently valid identity documents. All other travellers should observe the applicable passport and visa requirements and deadlines. Your embassy will be pleased to provide further information.

• The Saxon Switzerland Tourism Association acts solely as an intermediary for this holiday.

• Day 1: Independent travel to Bad Schandau
  Use the afternoon for a short stroll through the tranquil district of Bad Schandau or take the ferry across to the spa resort of Krippen. A walk along the Caspar David Friedrich Trail is also an ideal introduction to your hiking tour of the highlights of Saxon Switzerland.
• Day 2: Bad Schandau - Schrammsteine - Lichtenhain Waterfall - Kirnitzsch Valley  (approx. 13 km, approx. 5.5 hrs)
  The destination of your first hike is the Schrammsteine rock formation. Some steep ascents and metal staircases must be negotiated here. Once you have reached the Kirnitzsch Valley, it is only another 700 metres to Lichtenhain Waterfall. From here, take the bus to Bad Schandau, where you will stay overnight. Alternatively, travel on the historic Kirnitzsch Valley tramway. Overnight stay in Bad Schandau
• Day 3: Bad Schandau - Lilienstein - Königstein  (approx. 11 km, approx. 4 hrs)
  Today, take the S-Bahn to Rathen. From Rathen, hike along the banks of the Elbe and ascend the Lilienstein via the Lottersteig trail. The mountain is the landmark of Saxon Switzerland National Park. The Lilienstein offers a particularly beautiful view across the entire Elbe Sandstone Mountains. After a descent involving numerous steps and a ferry crossing to Königstein, a short but steep ascent leads to the impressive Königstein Fortress. Allow time to visit one of Europe's largest hilltop fortresses. Afterwards, take the S-Bahn to Rathen, where you will stay overnight and enjoy a delicious dinner. Overnight stay in Rathen
• Day 4: Hike to the spa resort of Gohrisch | Königstein/Weissig  (approx. 12.5 km, approx. 4.5 hrs)
  This stage takes you through the ruggedly romantic Polenz Valley. The route through the rocky valley is considered one of the most beautiful in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. Today, you will climb the Hockstein via steps and ladders. Continue through the Amselgrund valley and the Schwedenlöcher gorge to the famous Bastei and its stone bridge. You then descend to the spa resort of Rathen. Overnight stay in Rathen
