Hike past species-rich mountain meadows and varied mixed forests on one of the most striking mountains in the eastern Osterzgebirge.
Hike past species-rich mountain meadows and varied mixed forests to one of the most striking mountains in the eastern Osterzgebirge. The Bohemian Sattelberg offers a panoramic view of the Bohemian low mountain range, the heights of the Eastern Ore Mountains, the Dresden Elbe Valley and Saxon-Bohemian Switzerland - and on particularly clear days, you can even spot the peaks of the Giant Mountains in the distance. The Sattelberg offers special geological features with its basalt columns, the boulder dump and a sandstone cave. The striking open cultural landscape of the Eastern Ore Mountains stretches all around with the so-called "stone ridges" and wooded stream valleys. With the Oelsengrund you will get to know one of these quiet original valleys better.
