Held since 1996 on the market square and the Elbe meadows in Stadt Wehlen

A celebration of regional products: On the first Sunday in September, the National Park Region’s Nature Market traditionally takes place in Stadt Wehlen from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This initiative by the National Park and Forestry Administration, the town of Stadt Wehlen, and the parish brings together customers and producers of sustainable products from the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains region at around 60 booths.

On the Elbe meadows, children can enjoy exciting nature and educational games about the Saxon Switzerland National Park, as well as meet various breeds of sheep and goats accompanied by expert commentary!

The Nature Market is much more than just a culinary delight! Here, you can listen to the finest live music, taste a good regional wine, chat with fellow enthusiasts, and pet the sheep. All your senses will be delighted in the unique market atmosphere on the beautiful square in front of the Wehlen Church on the Elbe. If you have more time to spare, you can enjoy it even longer.

Just as they did for the first time in 1996, the Saxon Switzerland National Park and Forest Administration, the City of Wehlen, and the Radfahrerkirche continue to organize the annual Nature Market. Some of the original vendors are still participating—we’re very happy about that and would like to say thank you!

Admission is free.
