Hohe Liebe Viewpoint

Short facts

  • Bad Schandau
  • Viewpoint/viewing tower,…

This 401m high table mountain has an untypical pointed shape, which is due to the influence of the Laustiz granite.

Hohe Liebe is located in the Saxon Switzerland National Park, between Kirnitzschtal and the Schrammsteine. The summit is only sparsely overgrown and therefore offers a good view of the surrounding rocks. This 401m high table mountain has an atypical pointed shape, which is due to the influence of the Laustiz granite.

On the plateau there is a mountaineering memorial made of sandstone with bronze plaques. It commemorates the members of the Saxon Mountaineering Association who died in the First World War. A memorial service is held there every year on the Sunday of the dead.

Hohe Liebe can be reached via several marked trails. The routes are natural, steep in places but easy to walk.

The viewpoint offers a view of Falkenstein, Schrammsteine, Affensteine and the valley.
