Stuffed Cabbage – a typical Saxon Switzerland dish

© Achim Meurer

There are many names for this classic German meal in the cold season - all starting with Kraut which translates into English as cabbage: Krautwickel, Krautrolle, Kohlrolle, Krautwurst.

Saxon Switzerland is a little Land of Plenty for stuffed cabbage connoisseurs. This local speciality is served in many different varieties here. The traditional stuffed cabbage dish consists of minced meat rolled in cooked white cabbage leaves.

It goes without saying that the stuffed cabbage is made almost exclusively from local ingredients.

Making your own stuffed cabbage? No problem!
