The hike begins at the Hoffnung stop in Hinterhermsdorf and continues briefly along Schandauer Straße towards the town center before sharply turning right down Dorfbachweg. From there, follow the yellow dot on the Hinterhermsdorf Panorama Trail until it crosses the path marked with a red line after a short steep staircase.
After the stairs, go a short distance to the right and then immediately to the left, which leads to the Beizehaus – a national park information point – whose visit is worthwhile for both young and old. Then climb the small mountain path up the rock and after a short viewpoint, follow the Hinterhermsdorf Panorama Trail with the yellow dot again to the Buchenparkhalle. From there, continue following the blue line to the Obere Schleuse.
On the way to the Obere Schleuse, a look into the small and very narrow Badger Cave, which widens somewhat towards the back, is worthwhile.
At Obere Schleuse, from Easter to October, you can take a boat through the Kirnitzschklamm and discover many interesting rock formations and learn a lot about the region. Alternatively, a beautiful path runs above the gorge, offering a nice view into it.
From Obere Schleuse, continue following the red line to Hermannseck, which can be climbed in two ways: either by the comfortable path or the narrow and steep staircase. It is recommended to ascend via the staircase and descend via the comfortable path, as otherwise, the constant opposing traffic makes it quite unpleasant and complicated.
After Hermannseck, follow the blue line along the Kirnitzschtal to the so-called Bear Cave in the Wolfsschlucht and, of course, through it. After the Bear Cave, continue following the blue line until a sign without markings points towards "Hollstraße - Königsplatz." Follow this path, which is a wide forest road and bike path, always further (passing a fork to Königsplatz) until a sign with a red line points left towards the Tunnelweg and Königsplatz. From there, continue following the red line to Königsplatz, passing the interesting rear Schweineloch and a rock tunnel.
At Königsplatz, after the longest ascent of the route, you can enjoy the outstanding view over the Bohemian and the Hintere Saxon Switzerland.
From Königsplatz, descend following the blue and green lines down to Zollstraße, which you cross, then continue straight down an unmarked forest path. Here you need to be careful not to miss a rarely used path turning right into a gorge called Finsterwäldchen, which you then traverse until you reach a wide forest road (Lindigtstraße) with gravel.
Follow Lindigtstraße uphill to the Lindigt Cave – a very large rock fissure cave. From this cave, continue climbing Lindigtstraße until a path marked with a red line leaves it straight ahead in a right curve. Follow this path uphill until a sign points to the last two tour destinations – Lindigtblick and the Brüder Steine. The path is marked with a green dot and well signposted.
After exploring Lindigtblick and the Brüdersteine, return from the Brüdersteine until the next sign shows the way (marked with a red line) back to Hinterhermsdorf to the starting point.
