Johanniswacht viewpoint

Short facts

The Johanniswacht is a vantage point in the Bielatal valley.

The Johanniswacht rises in the upper part of the Biela valley near Rosenthal-Bielatal and offers an impressive view of the gorge-like landscape thanks to its exposed location. The viewpoint forms a striking sandstone platform that stands out clearly from the surrounding rock faces.

The access is via forest paths and sometimes leads over steep sections. Sure-footedness is required on the last section; those who climb the path will reach the viewpoint with a view of the valley and the rock towers opposite.

From the rock, the view sweeps over to the sandstone formations opposite - including striking needles and spikes.
