Grenzplatte (viewpoint)

Short facts

  • Rosenthal-Bielatal
  • Viewpoint/viewing tower,…

A striking rocky plateau in the Bielatal with spectacular views over the valley and as far as neighboring Bohemian Switzerland.

The Grenzplatte rises like a pulpit from the steep north-eastern rock face on the border with the Czech Republic. The 525-metre-high plateau can be reached via narrow forest paths.

The place is ideal for a rest and offers a wide view of the opposite rock towers of the Bielatal, both on the German and Czech side.

The view of the Hoher Schneeberg, the highest peak in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, is particularly striking. The wooded mountain ranges and deeply carved valleys in the surrounding area can also be clearly seen.
