Museum of local history Dohna

Short facts

History of the town, geology and crafts - the Dohna Local History Museum presents the development of the region from the Stone Age to the 20th century.

The Dohna Local History Museum is located in the historic Apothecary's House on the market square. The exhibition shows the development of the town from its beginnings in the Middle Ages to the 20th century and provides insights into the lives of the citizens, the work of the trades and the importance of the town as an administrative center.

Special emphasis is placed on the history of the burgraviate of Dohna, the former importance of the butchers' guild and the history of pharmacies. Exhibits from various centuries, including weapons, uniforms and old pharmacy equipment, complete the collection.

In addition to the permanent exhibition, changing special exhibitions are shown. Guided tours of the museum and the historic old town are available by appointment.
