Narrow-gauge railway Schwarzbachbahn

Short facts

The Schwarzbachbahn e. V. regularly organizes events where visitors can experience the history of the narrow-gauge railroad.

From May 1897 to May 1951, the only narrow-gauge railroad in Saxon Switzerland ran between Goßdorf-Kohlmühle and Hohnstein. Remarkable are the two tunnels along the route with lengths of 63 and 38 meters - the only narrow-gauge tunnels in Saxony. Today, guided hikes are offered along the former railroad line. At various events, it is possible to visit the display facility at Lohsdorf station.

The Schwarzbachbahn e. V. was founded in 1995 and has been actively involved in the reconstruction of the line ever since. Since 2006, reconstruction has been taking place step by step from Lohsdorf station.
