In 1697/98, the old Lichtenhain church, which was already mentioned in the 15th century, was radically rebuilt and extended.
In2018, urgently needed repair work was carried out on the outer walls as well as the windows of the building.
The altarpiece shows the scene in which Abraham is supposed to sacrifice his own son as a proof of loyalty to God and an angel stops him at the last moment.
