Langburkersdorf Castle and Cultural Barn
The castle offers a variety of events, including a forest and hunting day, concerts, classical music and culture in the castle. A Mother's Day concert is also held every year. Visitors can only visit the castle by appointment. Once a year, there is an Open Monument Day, when the castle is open to all visitors. The castle is also a popular venue for weddings. There are various rooms suitable for wedding ceremonies.
In December 2000, Langburkersdorf Castle and the associated castle grounds, including the farm buildings and barn of the former Burkersdorf knight's estate, were acquired by the then Hohwald municipality.
Ideas for the use of the buildings were needed. Thus, in painstaking work, the farm barn was gutted and converted into the present "culture barn".
This created an ideal place for festivities such as the annual harvest festival (photo below), celebrations, weddings and events. Left with rock walls on its exterior and interior, it provides a rustic venue for concerts and exhibitions.
