Viewpoint at the Kirnitzschtal valley

In the eastern part of the Saxon Switzerland National Park, the Großstein sandstone rock towers above the Kirnitzschtal valley.

Access is via narrow, natural paths. The route runs through dense mixed forest and over stony sections in places.

From the exposed rocky head, there is an unobstructed view of the richly structured terrain between Hinterer Raubschloss, Großer Winterberg and the Zschand area. The view includes wooded ridges, rock faces and lower lying valleys.

As part of the protected national park area, the location is an example of the combination of a sensitive natural zone and controlled accessibility.
