Exhibition of the Schifferverein Königstein e. V. on the history of the association and navigation in the upper Elbe valley.

The exhibition shows the history and tradition of the Schifferfastnachten, which still take place from mid-January to the beginning of March, the history of the association since 1784, the life and work of the people on and with the river and shipping on the Upper Elbe over the centuries. Here, contemporary witnesses from the history of Elbe shipping speak out.  Contemporary witnesses, such as the historical ship models, which can now be seen fully rigged for the first time outside the Schifferfastnachten, as well as many documents, skipper's patents and pictures from earlier times. Historical aspects of Elbe navigation, such as the former fairway marking, chain towing, towage and rafting, are the themes of the exhibition.
