Short facts

Umgebindehaus and exhibition about former life in Reinhardsdorf-Schöna

The Heimatstube is located on the ground floor of a half-timbered house built in 1890. It shows the living room/kitchen of a quarryman's family from around 1920 with partly original household goods and utensils. In one of the two upper rooms there is a lot to learn about sandstone. You can learn about its formation and about stone crushing in Saxon Switzerland yesterday and today. In another room you can learn about the development of the Elbe boatmen's profession and the numerous mills in our village. Particularly worth seeing are the model of the "Rehnmühle" and a ship model of the Schifferverein Schöna.

Approximate duration of a tour: approx. 1/2 h
