From Porschdorf via the Brand and Gamrig to Rathen

Start at the railway station in Porschdorf, from where you first follow the road to the left and the red dot to the entrance to the Polenztal valley. Then follow the signpost with the blue line through the Tiefen Grund to the Brandaussicht.

You should not miss the area behind the Brandbaude with the Thümmelgrotte, where it is usually a little quieter and you also have a spectacular view.

From the Brandaussicht, continue along the Brand for a while until a signpost with a red line points to the left into the Schulzengrund to the Waltersdorfer Mühle. Once in the Polenztal valley, cross the Polenz river and walk past the Walterdorfer Mühle mill for a while through the Polenztal valley until the path with the red line branches off to the left out of the valley.

Then follow the Füllhölzelweg up the hill for quite a while until you reach a road, cross it and then follow the red line downhill again.

Now you have to be a bit attentive, because in the bottom the turn-off to the left to the Gamrig behind a large rock face is not signposted, even though it is first a wide forest path that leads over a bridge.

Then follow the path up to the Gamrig, which you have to leave again on the same path you used to climb it. The only difference is that you then turn left and hike to the road, from where you take another short left up to the Gamrig cave.

From the Gamrighöhle, walk back a short distance and turn left next to the road into the Asprichgraben, which then leads directly to Rathen.

In Rathen, walk through the alleys to the Elbe, cross it by ferry and walk up the other side of the Elbe to the right to the railway station, the end of the tour.
