Viewpoint on the former site of a castle above the market square.
The former castle complex is enthroned on a rocky spur around 25 meters above the Elbe near Stadt Wehlen. It dates back to the 13th century and was part of the regional fortification structure for centuries.
In recent years, the site has been extensively renovated. A new lookout tower has replaced the original keep, the site has been secured, made accessible and information boards have been added.
Today, the castle plateau and tower are open to the public. From the top, you can enjoy a sweeping view over the Elbe valley and the town of Wehlen.
