Viewing platform Kleine Bastei (near Krippen)

The Kleine Bastei is located around 240 meters above the Elbe valley near the village of Krippen. A bench on the edge of the rock invites you to linger and offers a view of the river and the Schrammsteine rocks

The viewpoint can be reached via easily accessible hiking trails. A short detour from the Caspar David Friedrich Trail leads directly to the Small Bastion. The route is not long, but a little steep in places. The path runs through mixed forest and over rock steps. No special equipment is required, but surefootedness is helpful in some sections.

The view is freely accessible all year round.
