Carolahöhe Viewpoint (Krippen)

Short facts

  • Bad Schandau
  • Viewpoint/viewing tower,…

A short climb leads to a hill with a wide view over the Elbe and Bad Schandau.

The Carolahöhe is located above the Bad Schandau district of Krippen. The viewpoint is just a ten-minute climb from the Berghangweg. From here, you have a wide view over the Elbe valley and the roofs of Krippen.

You can see the Carola Bridge in Rathmannsdorf, Bad Schandau with the historic passenger elevator to Ostrau and the half-timbered houses of Postelwitz. This makes the Carolahöhe one of the most beautiful views around Krippen.

On clear days, the view is particularly far-reaching, while in summer the foliage of the trees partially restricts the view of the Schrammsteine. A small association from Krippen looks after the preservation and maintenance of the area. The site is freely accessible.
