Situated on a slope above the Müglitz Valley, the vantage point offers a view of Weesenstein Castle in winter.
The building combines elements of Gothic, Renaissance and Classicism and was once the summer residence of King Johann of Saxony. The unusual construction method is particularly striking - built from the mountain plateau downwards, with the oldest parts at the top.
The place, or rather the path to it, is called "Abendfrieden" (evening peace) and lives up to its name, especially in the evening hours. A bench invites you to linger.
The site can be reached via forest paths and can be easily integrated into a walk from the Meusegast district or the castle park.
