Jetty on the banks of the Elbe in Königstein. Starting point for trips on historic paddle steamers through the Sandstone Mountains to Dresden and Bad Schandau.
The landing stage in Königstein is just a few steps away from the train station, on the left-hand side of the Elbe downstream. From here, ships of the Saxon Steamboat Company depart for trips to Bad Schandau, Pirna and Dresden.
A boat trip opens up new perspectives on the rocks, forests and towns along the Elbe. On board, there are gastronomic offerings and information about the passing landscape.
The historic fleet with its paddle wheels is one of the oldest in the world. Tickets can be purchased online, at the ticket counter or directly on the ship.
The jetty is mainly used in the warmer months. Operation may be restricted when the water level is low or at high tide.
Königstein
Königstein offers an impressive view from the Elbe. The town stretches several kilometers up the slope along the Bielatal valley. The Königstein Fortress towers high above it.
Due to its impregnable location, it served Saxon electors and kings as a retreat in times of crisis. Works of art and the state treasury were kept here.
Later, Königstein was the venue for court festivities and served as a state prison for a long time. Today, the fortress is considered an important architectural and historical monument to Saxon history.
For those arriving, it is worth climbing the Lilienstein or visiting Königstein Fortress. A transfer bus will take you from the town directly to the foot of the fortress.
