Natural stage in the Bärsgrund

In the 1950s and 1960s, many holidaymakers spent their holidays in Leupoldishain and the surrounding area. In order to be able to offer them a cultural programme, the idea of building a natural stage matured. The natural stage was opened on 21 June 1959 with a festive event. The number of visitors was enormous - the 1200 seats were not enough. Subsequently, well-known artists and ensembles performed.

In 2011, the forest stage was revived. In cooperation with the Neustadt forest district and the Leupoldishain local history society as well as the volunteer fire brigade, the natural stage has since been used for various small events, including theatre performances, concerts, choir performances and environmental education programmes.
