Historic passenger elevator to Ostrau, a district of Bad Schandau located above - a technical monument with a view.
Since 1904, the historic passenger elevator has been transporting guests comfortably from the Elbe valley to the higher district of Ostrau. The freestanding tower is 52 meters high and was built from steel in the Art Nouveau style. A 28-metre-long bridge connects the upper platform with the forest path to Ostrau.
The ride to the top takes less than a minute and offers a special perspective of the city, the Elbe Valley and the surrounding countryside. Once you reach the top, you can start walking directly on forest paths or enjoy the view of the Elbe valley to Bad Schandau
Whether as a convenient way for hikers to overcome a few meters of altitude or as a small technical adventure - the elevator ride is a special experience for guests of all ages.
