Rathen rock stage

Short facts

Open-air stage in the middle of the Saxon Switzerland National Park with a varied theater program from May to September.

The Rathen cliffs rise majestically above the natural stage and offer a dreamlike - and sometimes scary - setting for open-air productions of various kinds.

The Rathen Rock Theatre is a natural stage in Saxon Switzerland. It is located in the basin at the upper end of the Wehlgrund between the Kleine Gans and Großer Wehrturm rocks below the Bastei and the Neurathen rock castle.

Due to its fantastic location in the middle of the Saxon Switzerland National Park, the Felsenbühne Rathen, which can hold around 1,800 spectators, is considered the most beautiful in Europe. Thousands of visitors have enjoyed the unique symbiosis of nature and art every year since 1936.
