Diebeskeller (cave)

Short facts

  • Königstein/Sächs. Schw.
  • Natural sight, Cave/stalactite…

A hidden gem at the foot of the Quirl on the Quirlpromenade

The Diebskeller is located on the north side of the Quirl, a table mountain in Pfaffenstein. The naturally formed layered joint cave is one of the most impressive in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains.

With a length of 29 meters, a width of 5 to 8 meters and a height of 2 to 4 meters, it covers an interior area of around 230 square meters. The cave is open to the public and is particularly interesting for those interested in geology.

Nestled in a wooded slope above Pfaffendorf, the Diebskeller can be easily integrated into hiking routes around the Quirl. It is suitable as a rest stop or excursion destination on tours to Königstein Fortress or Pfaffenstein.
A flashlight will shed light on the hidden depths.
