Ottendorf Robbery Castle in the Kirnitzsch Valley

Felsenburg Arnstein, also known as Ottendorfer Raubschloss, is an important rock castle in the rear of Saxon Switzerland. Still preserved today are a whole series of carved-out rooms, the beam supports of the wooden superstructures and the cistern.

This former medieval fortification stood on a rock pedestal before it was captured and thoroughly destroyed in 1451. Old steps, many folds in the rock and mysterious petroglyphs are today the remains of a castle that lived on in the consciousness of the people in the surrounding villages as the Ottendorfer Raubschloß.
