Mountain restaurant with beer garden near the famous Bastein Bridge
The history of the Steinerne Tisch dates back to 1710, when Elector Friedrich August I of Saxony laid the foundations for a forest economy here. Initially, temporary accommodation was erected for hunting parties before the first permanent buildings, such as a wooden house and a refreshment hall, were built at the end of the 18th century. In 1925, a massive building was erected, the basic structure of which is still preserved today.
After the Second World War, the property came into the possession of a Dresden family and was later run by the GDR trade organization. Over the years, the inn was continuously extended and renovated. In 1990, the property was transferred back to the Schmidt family from Bochum.
Since 2017, the traditional inn has been renovated and revived by nature and mountain sports enthusiasts from Dresden.
