To mark German Mill Day, visitors can tour the Elbersdorf Mill, with its hydroelectric power station and small mill museum.
On Mill Day, the Arndt family opens its doors to curious visitors. As well as guided tours of the modern power station, several detailed mill models demonstrate how water power has been harnessed for over 1,000 years. The restored water wheel is also in operation. There are 150 years of electricity generation to discover.
Entertainment and refreshments are provided. On offer are draught beer, bratwurst, coffee and cake, handicrafts and a mill flea market. Children can let off steam on the bouncy castle or try out face painting.
