A sandstone cliff with a view over forests and rocks - Napoleon was observed here in 1813.

The Napoleonstein is located above Langenhennersdorf on the sandstone cliffs of the Langenhennersdorfer Wände. At an altitude of 413 meters, it offers a wide view of the landscape of the Eastern Ore Mountains and the forests surrounding the Breite Heide.

The village takes its name from a legend from the Wars of Liberation. Napoleon is said to have observed his troop movements from here in 1813. Legend has it that a cannonball narrowly missed him and its impact point is still marked today.

The viewpoint is easily accessible via forest paths. Information boards and a bench invite you to take a break. Access is free and possible all year round.
