Bio- and National Park Refuge Schmilka

Short facts

Unique experiences, organic cuisine and accommodation in various categories

The Bio- & Nationalpark Refugium Schmilka is a holiday and leisure retreat in the small, former boatmen's village of Schmilka. It is characterised by a 100% dedication to the organic idea.

It is a so-called "Alberghi Diffusi" (from the Italian: scattered hotel). Here, rooms, flats, holiday homes, the reception as well as restaurants, event venues and manufactories are not housed in a single building. Instead, they are spread throughout the village of Schmilka.

During the winter months from mid-November to mid-March, Schmilka is transformed into a winter village. The Mühlenhof becomes the central meeting point where guests can enjoy mulled wine around the campfire. The pool attendant invites you to take a dip in the heated hot tubs and enjoy a sauna in the bathhouse. Delicious food is served in the mill parlour and the organic bakery has the aroma of freshly baked bread. A cosy atmosphere is created by dimmed lights, shining Herrnhut stars and crackling open fires. In the Winter Village Schmilka, various experience and wellness offers are offered, which are called "rituals". A comprehensive overview of these offers can be found at www.schmilka.de/veranstaltungen.
