Bad Schandau National Park Station

Short facts

Train station with regional and long-distance transport as a starting point for environmentally friendly exploration of Saxon Switzerland.

The station is located on the right bank of the Elbe opposite the town of Bad Schandau. Since its opening in 1877, it has developed from a mere stopping point to a transport hub with connections to the train, bus, ferry and cycle path network.

The on-site service office provides guests with information on timetables, fares and excursion destinations in Saxon-Bohemian Switzerland and the entire area of the Upper Elbe Transport Association. In addition to tickets for the train, Kirnitzschtalbahn and long-distance transport, hiking maps and regional souvenirs are also available here.

The office is also the central point of contact for lost property from the bus, ferry and Kirnitzschtalbahn. The barrier-free design and connection to the hiking trail network make the station a suitable starting point for tours into the national park.

Long-distance trains on the Berlin-Prague route and the S1 S-Bahn line connect Bad Schandau with Dresden and the Elbe Valley. The Elbe ferry landing stage is nearby and provides the connection to the city center.
