The highlight of the event calendar at the Toskana Thermen Bad Sulza, Bad Schandau and Bad Orb is the annual Liquid Sound Festival.
The longest bathing night of the year!
Half dreaming, half dancing, bathers enjoy a program of live and electronic music, light and video projections from Saturday evening to Sunday morning. For a whole long night, the three exceptional thermal baths will be the setting for this unique festival.
The program starts on Saturday, 1 November at 18:00 and ends on Sunday at 09:00. On the stage above the water, there will be concert highlights, fantastic video art, the nightly Liquid Sound Club acts and early morning fog music between the last dream in the deckchair and the first espresso in the bistro bar.
Festival program
There are premieres to marvel at at the Liquid Sound Festival:
- Visual installation FLUID_M by Jo Siamon Salich from Dresden. The description says "Visitors enter an immersive image and sound environment, a spatial perception that melts into itself, which is also supported by the ambient sound. A meditation space is created in which the audience can withdraw and be absorbed." Enriched by interactive FlowDance by ANDY IX.
- Earthbound journey to Europe's north, Swedish folk sensitively played by Sveriges Vänner.
- The Liquid Sound Temple is home to artists who create soundscapes for those floating in the water as part of the Liquid Sound Residency series - with Lasch & Shannon Soundquist (DE), mʊdʌki (phonon~ crew, CZ/BLR), Zedernbuche (DE), (ID)-entity work in progress (CZ), Seljuk Rustum (IN), Tatjana Bikic (DE), Hartmut Dorschner (DE), Aedna Harp (DE), Agnes Ponizil (DE), La Pesch (DE), Andreas Ullrich (DE), Aliaksandra Yakubouskaya (BLR), Yenting Hsu (TW).
- PØNG from Dresden contribute electronic dream music. The sonic journey they take bathers on is created from a combination of analogue synthesizers and digital instruments that fill the room with deep bass lines and interweaving melodies.
In the dream bathing time between 01:00 and 09:00, which is particularly popular with night owls, the Liquid Sound Club team puts together the program:
- DESERT SAND FEELS WARM AT NIGHT live from England.
- PERMASPACE. Perma Couture + hineinspace in Duo.
- Axl Rhodes
- Occupied Head
- Hofuku Sochi 報復措置 + Video Art by ® AV limitedTM
Overnight stay
You don't want to drive home after the festival, but rather fall into a comfortable bed right away? Then book your overnight stay at Hotel Elbresidenz an der Therme Bad Schandau, just 200m away. Admission to the spa is included for hotel guests!
The water-filled concert hall
The Elbe flows here, the climbing rocks of Saxon Switzerland tower there, and spa guests relax in the middle with a panoramic view of the adventure panorama: Toskana Therme Bad Schandau has stood for healthy and relaxing bathing in a work of art for almost 20 years now.
The spa experience is made unique by "Liquid Sound® - bathing in light and music". Bathers float weightlessly in a sea of color and light while listening to the gentle sounds of relaxation above and - what's special - under water. The highlight of the musical bath is undoubtedly a visit to the Liquid Sound Temple, whose dome is enlivened by a 360° projection of dreamlike landscapes of colored light. Liquid Sound® was developed by media artist Prof. Micky Remann and was included as an official EXPO 2000 project.
In the Sauna World of Toskana Therme, everything revolves around healthy sweating. Multifaceted themed saunas such as the Finnish sauna, the ore sauna, the Roman "Laconium" (dry sauna) or the panorama sauna with a view of the idyllic surroundings ensure comprehensive and lasting deep relaxation.
In the adjoining Wellness Park , guests are also offered individually tailored treatments in the areas of wellness, medical wellness, Ayurveda and cosmetics. And those who want to immerse themselves in the region in the wellness area can experience a royal time-out in the Saxon bathing room.
Year after year, the calendar of events at Toskana Therme also offers a variety of culturally valuable moments. The highlight is certainly the annual "Liquid Sound Festival" in November. There are also other events such as the monthly "Liquid Sound Club", where DJs play chilled electronic beats and are regularly supported by live musicians.
