After all, mountains, forests and meadows have inspired many a choir member to write songs that have been set to music by mountaineering choir conductors.
Founded in 1927, the choir unites 140 powerful male voices whose repertoire includes classical and contemporary works as well as traditional mountaineering, hiking, local and folk songs. And where could these melodies sound better than on the Rathen rock stage between the Wehltürme towers in the middle of Saxon Switzerland?
