"Once upon a time": The Leipzig brass quintet emBRASSment celebrates 25 years with musical fairy tales and classics in St. Johanniskirche Bad Schandau.
The ensemble, consisting of Christian Scholz (trumpet), Nick Pscheidt (trumpet), Jakob Knauer (horn), Lars Proxa (trombone) and Nikolai Kähler (tuba), performs works by Mia Makaroff, Henry Purcell, Edvard Grieg, Nikolai Rimski-Korsakov, Georges Bizet and Rafael Hernández. The program includes "Butterfly", the "Abdelazer Suite", excerpts from "Peer Gynt", "Scheherazade", "Carmen Fantasia" and "El Cumbanchero".
St. Johanniskirche, a historic building with impressive acoustics, provides the ideal setting for this concert. The combination of virtuoso playing and the special ambience of the church promises an unforgettable evening for all music lovers.
Tickets priced at 10 euros are available from May 24, 2025 at the Evangelical Lutheran parish office in Bad Schandau and at the tourist information office. Remaining tickets can be purchased at the box office, which opens 30 minutes before the concert begins.
