For several years now, runners from all over Germany and other countries have been drawn to one of the most architecturally and historically valuable mountain fortresses in Europe.
Runners can expect a challenging, hilly profile on the 8.8 km course. The start at 6.30 pm is near the Königstein town church. There are 470 meters of ascent to the top. The last 1.3 km run on the plateau, past all the important sights. The runners have a wonderful view of Saxon Switzerland along the fortress wall with the Elbe meandering below the fortress.
And when the award ceremony is celebrated in front of the setting sun on the market square of the fortress, it is the best reward for the runners' efforts.
The start numbers for participants in the main 8.8-kilometer and 7.1-kilometer races will be handed out between 4 and 6 p.m. at the start area in the Königstein tourist information office on Pirnaer Straße. The starting numbers for the mini run and the inclusion run over 1.3 km (each) will be available at the same time at the registration stand on the Paradeplatz directly on the fortress plateau.
