Walter Plathe: "I didn't leave anything out"

Short facts

Known from radio and television: Popular actor Walter Plathe will be a guest in the Great Festival Hall of the Richard Wagner Sites Graupa on March 15, 2025.

On stage, he played the seductive Liliom, the mischievous Schwejk and the tragic Professor Unrat. In films he played comic and serious roles, and on television he was the down-to-earth, likeable "Landarzt" for seventeen years. As dazzling and versatile as the roles of the actor Walter Plathe are, the character behind them is straightforward and direct. Walter Plathe - a real Berlin plant, a guy with heart and snout, a popular actor who sticks to his credo: "The mother of Janze is the theater!". When Walter Plathe talks about his life, it's as if he's reading from a script. The genre? Comedy, thriller, romance, drama, farce and action movie all in one. With his dry repartee and the temperament of an original Berliner, the actor talks about a life full of scene changes and contrasts. Plathe is a prankster, character and heartbreaker, likeable and warm, thoughtful and funny - not only when he slips into his roles, but also as a person. Followed by an autograph session!
