Sendigbaude is located above Bad Schandau, directly at the top station of the historic passenger elevator to Ostrau. It can only be reached on foot or by elevator and offers a special view over the Elbe valley.
Arrival by car
Bad Schandau is easily accessible via the B172. There are several parking options near the valley station of the passenger elevator, for example at the Elbkai or at the national park railway station. From there, a short walk leads to the valley station.
By public transport
Bad Schandau can be reached by S-Bahn (line S1) from Dresden or Schöna. From the station, you can take the ferry or cross the bridge to the town side. The route to the valley station is signposted and is easily accessible on foot.
Continue to Sendigbaude
The ascent to Sendigbaude is by historic passenger elevator (for a fee). The elevator is usually in operation from April to October. The Sendigbaude is located directly at the mountain station on the bridge over the Elbe Valley.
Please note
The ascent with the passenger elevator only takes a few minutes. Early arrival is recommended as the number of passengers per trip is limited. Operation may be restricted in bad weather.
