Concert: Dirk Zöllner & Manuel Schmid

Short facts

Dirk Zöllner & Manuel SchmidThe most beautiful ballads from the land before our time

Two singers, two pianos and a saxophone. Songs by Lift, Karat, Biege, Bartzsch and Lakomy.

Dirk Zöllner (Die Zöllner) and Manuel Schmid (Stern Combo Meissen) present the most beautiful ballads from the land before our time. Not a nostalgia show, but the preservation of a high-quality cultural heritage. Manuel Schmid, André Gensicke and Marek Arnold are three first-class pianists and a saxophonist who can celebrate an opulent sound experience in this constellation.

Manuel Schmid has caused quite a stir in the German-speaking music scene with his own albums. Marek Arnold has long been a fixture on the international progressive rock scene and has released albums with Steve Hackett (GENESIS), Jon Anderson (YES) and Derek Sherinian (DREAM THEATER).

Dirk Zöllner and André Gensicke have been working together since November 1987 and founded their big band "Die Zöllner" in June 1988. Sixteen albums have been released in the past 35 years. Zöllner has also published three books and, as a columnist for the "Freie Presse", is committed to peaceful social cohesion.

The rough and the soft, the improvised and the clear - the very different voices of Dirk Zöllner and Manuel Schmid have often come together in symbiosis. In times of Corona, the two released a living room concert with André Gensicke with the aforementioned songs. On the tour, this interplay will be experienced live and musically deepened.
