The a cappella vocal ensemble "Orfeo" has been dedicated to Renaissance music since 2020 under the direction of Tatiana Boguta.
The quintet holet rarely sung madrigals, chorales, motets and other compositions from oblivion, but also perform well-known songs from this era. Their varied repertoire spans the period from the early masters such as Dufay, Ockeghem and Desprez to Sweelinck, Dowland and Gesualdo and attempts to develop a balance between historically inspired performance practice and modern listening. In addition to the sacred compositions, there is a multitude of secular compositions that illuminate all themes of the joys and sorrows of love, nature, sociability, philosophy, society and man himself, which "Orfeo" juxtaposes in its contrasting concert programs. With international origins and influences, each of them brings their own history and musical experience. Three musical programs are firmly in the repertoire: "What is our live", "An hellen Tagen" and the Christmas program: "Der Morgenstern ist aufgedrungen". Here, too, they perform familiar and less familiar pieces: four-part folk songs and motets, ranging from cheerful to sorrowful, performed with passion and emotion, works full of longing for love, peace, freedom and tolerance.
