Cunnersdorf
Cunnersdorf
The goal of this route is a rather quiet viewpoint in the left bank part of Saxon Switzerland – the Katzstein. From Cunnersdorf, the path initially leads south. After reaching the spruce thicket, it is not far to the first rock of the route – the Spitzstein. The nearby Spitzstein bivouac offers a wonderful opportunity for a short rest. From there, the path continues to the Schneeberg view. The view on the south side of the Katzstein is one of the most beautiful in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains: 180 degrees of unobstructed view – from the Schrammsteinkette to the Hoher Schneeberg. From here, the route continues north over the wooded plateau of the Katzstein to the Signal viewpoint – passing the Katzfels, probably the smallest viewpoint in Saxon Switzerland. There the descent back to Cunnersdorf begins.
This route is a red route (moderate).
