The starting point for the hike is the Waitzdorf Holländerweg bus stop. From there, follow the signs for the Malerweg trail along the edge of the forest towards the Waitzdorfer Aussicht viewpoint, which offers sweeping views of the surrounding countryside. About 200 metres further on, the trail leads through the forest to the second viewpoint above the Lärmchenturm tower.
The circular trail then continues past a large clearing and meets the Mühlweg trail. Keep left there, leave the Malerweg trail and follow the red line back to the starting point at the bus stop. In the village, you can stop for a bite to eat at the Waitzdorfer Schänke, which serves good food.
Here, a herd of Galloway cattle roams freely on Waitzdorfer Berg all year round.
